Fashion is a Fanfare

So I guess you guys know I have this small disability called hemiplegia. If you don't know what it is it causes a weakness in my left side... like I never really talk about this so who knows why I'm putting it on the internet... Well, this small weakness of my left side means that I don't really like wearing dresses and showing off my legs. MAJOR anxiety when I wear dresses out. But then again when I find a dress that I just like; example the 1 below, I put on my dark tights and carry on. I have adapted the mentality of not caring what people think of me!!  As I carry on with my blog if I have any readers out there please let me know what you think, comments are always helpful and appreciated! It snowed on boxing day and I thought I would make the most of it for photo's. This is a new jacket, its vintage from Cow, I just loved the colour - it really caught my eye. I haven't posted in a while, so this is short one - 80's inspired!  I'm actually wearing most of my mum's clothes! The cardigan is Monsoon and sooo warm. The jumper is from New Zealand and the trousers are vintage. These sandals are Doc Martens - I think they look alright with socks as my toes don't peak out! Also, I would like to say thank-you to HemiHelp for letting me feature in their latest magazine. Its a great organisation for young people. So its November already! How time flies. I've been up to my knees in uni work and applying for jobs at the moment so have been mega busy. Thought I would post this outfit from a while ago, I went for a 'rocker' vibe - the shirt is vintage, I borrowed it from my mum! I like the interesting collar detailing and I wanted to mix up the femininity of the frill with my Doc Martens and a Banksy tee (for a touch of rebel ;) ). I think it works quite well! I love making unexpected choices and mixing them together to see the results... sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! But I guess that's the fun of fashion.... Its a bit of a Topshop post with a splash of Primark. The blazer and dress are Topshop and the light pink belt is Primark. I actually got the blazer for formal interviews/presentations that I have at uni.  I decided to get an neutral piece so I can mix &match it with colour items. This means I am able to dress it down with a look like this. Or wear a colourful piece if I feel like standing out!  Lauren x
